Dr. Andrew DeMeyer
Dentist
Dr. Andrew DeMeyer is a native of San Diego, having grown up in Point Loma and Ocean Beach. He attended Point Loma High School and later matriculated at the University of California, San Diego. He then went on to the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, where he graduated with High Honors and was selected for membership in Omicron Kappa Upsilon (the National Dental Honor Society, dentistry’s version of Phi Beta Kappa). Dr. DeMeyer then served 4 years as a dentist in the United States Navy.
His initial tour was at the Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, where he completed a General Practice Residency with a surgery emphasis. He then joined the USS OGDEN (LPD-5) as the Dental Department Head while she was deployed to Prince William Sound, Alaska in support of the Exxon-Valdez oil spill. While aboard he also traveled to the Far East, and eventually to the Persian Gulf for the first Gulf War. He was conferred the Combat Action Ribbon, the Kuwaiti Liberation Medal, and the Navy Commendation Medal for meritorious service.
Upon completion of his military service in 1992, Dr. DeMeyer bought partnership in the Mission Boulevard Dental Group with Dr. Daniel Henderson and then went on to become the group’s principle owner in 2002.
Additionally, Dr. DeMeyer has been appointed to a faculty position at the University of Pacific School of Dentistry, San Francisco, serving as Associate Professor of Reconstructive Dentistry, which he currently maintains.
